In our careers and in our hobbies, many times our success and happiness can be credited to having a great mentor.
A game as intricate as bridge is no different. Hopefully your club or unit has an active mentor program, but if not, the ACBL has created a simple guide to help you get a program started.
There are many benefits to a mentoring program:
- Improved retention rates
- Increased club table counts
- Opportunity for experienced players to give back
The first step to creating a successful program is to have a committed Mentoring Chair.
Some of the duties of a Mentoring Chair include:
- Creating a committee
- Promoting the program to club managers/owners
Assisting clubs in finding partnerships and establishing mentors
Included in the Bridge Mentoring Program guide are several marketing resources: brochure, flier, handout and more. These items will help your program get the necessary traction and support. We can’t wait to hear more about your established or newly created mentor program and the success it helped you achieve.
