Screen Shot 2016-05-12 at 12.19.04 PM In our careers and in our hobbies, many times our success and happiness can be credited to having a great mentor.

A game as intricate as bridge is no different. Hopefully your club or unit has an active mentor program, but if not, the ACBL has created a simple guide to help you get a program started.

There are many benefits to a mentoring program:

  • Improved retention rates
  • Increased club table counts
  • Opportunity for experienced players to give back

The first step to creating a successful program is to have a committed Mentoring Chair.

Some of the duties of a Mentoring Chair include:

  • Creating a committee
  • Promoting the program to club managers/owners
  • Assisting clubs in finding partnerships and establishing mentors
